Was born in 1981 in Ankara. He started to play the Cello in Suzan Altiner's cello class at Istanbul University State Conservartory when he was Seven years old. After studying in this class for four years he moved to Izmir with his family.
In 1993, he was accepted to Prof. Umit Isgorur's cello class at Izmir State Conservatory as a full time student. During his education, in 1995, he won 3rd prize in the Gifted Children's Music Competition which is organised by The Rotary Club. In 1997 and 1998, he joined the master classes of the famous cello artist Alexander Rudin as an active participiant. In 2002 he performed Heitor Villa-Lobos's "Bachianas Bresillieras" as Turkey Premiere with Prof. Umit Isgorur's cello class. In 2002, he was invited to the International Music Festival "Festival Musicale Et Lyrique" in Bourg-Saint-Andeol (Ardeche) and he performed solo and chamber music concerts.
He continued his education with Prof. Çağlayan Ünal Sümer in her cello class for one and a half years. In 2003, just after his graduation, he passed the exams and was accepted to Reyent Bölükbaşı's cello class at Istanbul Technical University MIAM with a full scholarship.
In the begining of 2008 he started his MA under the Associate Prof. Sinan Dizmen's counseling at the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory. He continued his education with Associate Prof. İzzet Nazlıaka at the same conservatory. In 2009, he won master program of Başkent University State Conservatory and completed his MA in this school with Associate Prof. Sinan Dizmen.
In 2004, he became a member of Baskent University Orchestra Academic Baskent in Ankara. Şerif Can Ünver continues to perform in that orchestra and in addition, he is teaching Cello at the Baskent University State Conservatory from 2007, and from 2010, he is continuing as the Art Directorate of Orchestra Academic Baskent till now.
